Tomorrow is a holiday in Delhi

New Delhi, Feb. 15 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Government on Tuesday declared tomorrow (Feb. 16) as a holiday on account of Guru Ravidas Birthday.

Till now the day was a Restricted Holiday (RH) in Delhi.

The holiday was declared by Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal on the recommendation of Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia.

“The L-G has declared Wednesday, Feb. 16, as a holiday in all government offices under the Govt of Delhi on account of Guru Ravidas Birthday,” said an official notification.

Earlier, while recommending Wednesday to be declared a public holiday, Sisodia stated in his letter – “Sant Ravidas was a famous Indian Mystic, Poet, Social Reformer and Spiritual Guru who made remarkable contributions in the form of devotional songs, verses and spiritual teachings during Bhakti Movement. Sant Ravidas Jayanti is falling on Feb. 16. It should be declared as a Public Holiday.”
