Delhi girl Megha wins 4 Silver Medals in Asian Equipped Powerlifting C’ship
New Delhi, June 26 (Delhi Crown): 20-year-old Megha Sehrawat has won laurels for her family and home-state Delhi by winning four Silver Medals at the Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship-2022, held in Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) earlier this week.
She won a Silver each in Squat (170 kg), Benchpress (85 kg), Deadlift (185 kg) and Overall (440 kg).
Megha, who hails from North-West Delhi’s Sahipur village, has been practicing Powerlifting for the past two years. She drew self-motivation every time she saw sportspersons from her school winning medals in national games, and gradually Powerlifting attracted her enough to take it up as a professional sport.
Her parents – Krishan Kumar and Praveen (mother) supported her at every single step.
Megha also credits her coach Ashish ojha for guiding her right in the sport, which finally led her to win medals in Coimbatore.
After her stupendous performance at the Asian Equipped Powerlifting Championship-2022, Megha has now set her eyes firm on a Gold Medal at the Senior National Championship, and finally getting a job in the Indian Railways in the Sports quota.
She practices Powerlifting twice a day, in the morning and then in the evening. In between is her rest time during the day. She takes normal diet daily, including eggs, chicken, dry-fruits, etc.
After passing 12th Grade from a private school in Kharkhoda (Sonepat, Haryana), Megha is currently pursuing her first year of Graduation.
