Decision in the wake of sudden spurt in Covid, Omicron cases

New Delhi, Dec. 30 (Delhi Crown): In the wake of sudden spurt in Covid cases, the Delhi High Court has decided to hear cases virtually with effect from Jan. 3 and directed all district courts to follow the order.

The arrangement shall continue till January 15, said an office order on Thursday.

The order also said that all courts staff would be required to get themselves fully vaccinated and adhere to the norms of social distancing and Covid protocols.

Delhi has been witnessing a sudden rise in the number of both Covid-19 and Omicron variant cases.

The national capital recorded as many as 923 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, which was almost double of 496 cases registered on Tuesday. It also tops the list of states in terms of Omicron cases. On Wednesday morning the tally stood 238, which was an increase of 73 cases from 165 on Tuesday.
