Delhi BJP’s “Sikh Cell” to protest against PM security breach in Punjab
New Delhi, Jan. 6 (Delhi Crown): The ‘Sikh Prakoshth’ of the Delhi unit of BJP will organise a protest in the heart of national capital on Friday against the PM’s security breach that took place in Punjab on Wednesday, said a party source.
PM was on his trip to poll-bound Punjab, for the first time after the Centre Government had withdrawn the three Farm Laws following a year-long agitation by farmers, mostly by Sikh farmers hailing from Punjab state.
A group of protesters, said to be farmers, had blocked the PM’s way while he was on his way to Hussainiwala from Bathinda to address a BJP rally. After being blocked for 15-20 minutes, the PM’s convoy returned to Bathinda from where PM took his return flight.
Before boarding his return flight, PM Modi was quoted as telling a senior Punjab government official to convey his message to State CM that he was fortunate that he was going back to Delhi alive.
The BJP took a stern notice of this whole episode, while holding the Congress-led Punjab government responsible for it.
