Delhi BJP chief directs Mayor to raze illegal constructions by Jahangirpuri clashes’ accused

New Delhi, April 19 (Delhi Crown): Delhi BJP president Adesh Gupta on Tuesday directed Mayor of the North Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) to demolish the illegal constructions (using a Bulldozer) carried out by the accused found involved in the April 16 Jahangirpuri violence.

As many as 25 accused, belonging to both the communities (Hindus and Muslims), have been picked up by the Delhi Police so far.

Earlier, during the day the Delhi Police had invoked the National Security Act (NSA) against five main accused, including Ansar, Sonu Chikna, Salim, Dilshad and Ahir.

As many as nine persons, including eight cops, were injured during the clashes between two groups in front of the Jahangirpuri Masjid while a procession was passing through the area on the occasion of Hanuman Jayanti.

The Delhi Police have maintained that the procession was carried out without due permissions.
