Positivity Rate also falls

New Delhi, Jan. 18 (Delhi Crown): Delhi reports 11,684 new Covid cases and 38 deaths on Tuesday.

The number of infections in the national capital has seen a marked decline over the last few days. On Monday, the city registered 12,587 cases, on Sunday it was 18,286, on Saturday the figure was 20,718, while on Friday it was 24,383.

The Positivity Rate also dropped to 22.47%, which was 5.52% less than yesterday. It was for the first time in a week when the Positivity Rate in the city had fallen.

As of now, there are 78,112 Active cases in the city.

According to government data, number of active cases in the city stands at 78,112, including 63,432 patients are in home isolation. The recovery rate stands at 94.02 per cent.

Amid the decrease in the number of new cases per day, health experts opined that the third wave of COVID-19, driven by the Omicron strain, had reached its peak in Delhi, and that it will fade away in the coming days.

Various restrictions, like night curfew, shutting down of schools, regulated attendance in offices, weekend curfew, continue to be in force. A few days ago Health Minister Satyendra Jain had said that the restrictions would be eased if the incidence of the pandemic falls in the coming days.
