Congress to observe Nov 20 as “Kisaan Vijay Diwas”
Hails withdrawal of 3 farm laws as victory of farmers
New Delhi, Nov. 19 (Delhi Crown): The Congress party will observe tomorrow (Nov 20) as “KISAAN VIJAY DIWAS”, said a statement issued by the party on Friday.
Hailing the repealing of the 3 “draconian” farm-laws and terming it is a victory of farmers, the party statement said that protests held by farmers, their sacrifices and the year-long uncompromising fight of a united opposition led by the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi, “resulted in this victory over an insensitive and dictatorial Government”.
“The victory is dedicated to all the ‘Annadatas’ of our country, in recognition of their consistent and spirited fight against the flawed decisions of the tyrannical government and will be observed by the Indian National Congress as “KISAAN VIJAY DIWAS”, on Nov 20,” said the party’s statement.
It further said: “Through the day tomorrow, Congress party workers and leaders will be joining the farmers in observing this historic victory. They will also be visiting families of Shaheed farmers in their areas. They will question the government for the delay in the repeal, that led to the sacrifice of over 700 precious lives of our farmers, and pay homage to the martyrs of the Kisan Satyagraha.”
The Pradesh Congress Committees, District Committees and Block Committees will be holding Press Conferences marking the victory of the farmer’s struggle and the repeal of the laws.
