Congress demands either PM should sack Guv Malik, or must apologise to farmers
Takes stern note of utterances of Guv Malik in a viral video
New Delhi, Jan. 3 (Delhi Crown): Taking a stern note of the video going viral showing Meghalaya Governor Satya Pal Malik talking about his conversation with PM Modi over farmers’ deaths, Congress spokesman Randeep Surjewala on Monday said that either the Governor should be removed immediately if he lying, or the PM should apologize to India’s toiling farmers and farm labourers.
In the viral video, the Governor is heard as saying, “When I went to meet the PM over the issue of 500 farmers deaths during the agitation against 3 Farm Laws, I had a fight with him within 5 minutes. When I raised the issue before him, he shot back saying had the farmers died for me.”
Reacting to the video, the Congress spokesman said – “Mr. Prime Minister, is this the language that the person holding the highest public office and elected by the farmers and farm labourers uses for them? Those farmers didn’t die for BJP. They did not die for Prime Minister Modi; they died to protect the food security of this country. They died so that justice could be done with 62 crore farmers and farm labourers and to dishonor their memory by none less than the Prime Minister himself, is actually most regrettable and condemnable.”
Surjewala further said that if Governor Satya Pal Malik was lying, “please sack Governor Satya Pal Malik today and register an FIR against him”. And, if he is not lying, then Prime Minister Modi must come forward, Amit Shah must come forward and apologize to India’s toiling farmers and farm labourers, “otherwise they will never pardon you.”
He further stated – “Neither will the families of 700 farmers, neither will their soul, who have sacrificed themselves, nor the 62 crore farmers will pardon you and Modi, we demand that today, please, come forward and announce compensation for next of the kin of each one of the 700 farmers, announce a government job of government of India for them.”
