Mobile phones, purse snatched in most cases

New Delhi, Jan. 22 (Delhi Crown): Cases of snatching continue to rise in Najafgarh. In most cases, items snatched are mobile phones and purse.

Mostly the snatchings are done by accused riding two-wheelers. Most of such crimes are done by jobless youths aged around 20 years living in nearby areas. Surprisingly, women too have been found involved in a couple of snatching cases in the recent past.

In one such case, the mobile phone of one Manoj Meena was snatched on Jan. 7 from F-block of Prem Nagar in Najafgarh while he was waiting in a street to meet his friend.

A biker, later identified as Saurabh (20), had snatched his phone singlehandedly.

Then, on Jan. 18 three youths riding a bike snatched a mobile phone and a purse of one Akhilesh Kumar from Nala Peer Baba Road in Najafgarh.

The accused were later identified as Sachin (19) and Nikku Thakur (21), both residents of Prem Vihar in Nangli Dairy. The duo are said to be habitual snatchers as two other mobile phones were recovered from their possession.

The third accused identified as Sahil alias Ganja is still at large.

In yet another case, three women snatchers hailing from Perna Basti of Rewla Khanpur area on Jhatikra Road had snatched a purse from a delivery boy in broad daylight in Dwarka’s Sector-13 area. While two women have been nabbed, one is still at large.
