Harender Singhal says Kejriwal wants to make Delhi “Sharaab ki Nagri”

New Delhi, Feb.4 (Delhi Crown): The Najafgarh district unit of the BJP organised a programme in the town on Friday to enable the BJP workers attend the virtual rally by Union Minister Smriti Irani against Delhi Government’s new Excise Policy.

The Delhi unit of the BJP, including the Najafgarh unit, has been protesting against the Delhi Government’s new Excise Policy since its inception.

The new policy came into effect on Nov. 17, alleging that the new vends have been opened inside residential areas or prohibited places like near temples or schools.

Today’s event at the Maharaja Agrasen Bhawan, Main Bazar in Najafgarh was arranged by senior district BJP leader Harender Singhal.

In her virtual rally, which was attended by BJP workers at nearly 500 spots across Delhi, Smriti Irani referred to the new liquor vend opened in Najafgarh near Gaushala on the Phirni Road.

Speaking to “The Delhi Crown”, Singhal said that consumption of alcohol leads to various types of crimes. “The Delhi Government is trying to make Delhi a ‘Sharaab ki Nagri’,” he said.

“When Kejriwal had forayed into politics he had said that whenever a new liquor vend is opened against the public’s wishes, it is laden with corruption,” Singhal said, and added that the particular new liquor-vend opened near Gaushala in Najafgarh has schools in immediate vicinity.
