BJP-ruled EDMC involved in Rs 450 cr scam, alleges AAP’s Durgesh Pathak
New Delhi, April 7 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi unit of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday alleged that the BJP-led East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) had committed a scam of around Rs 450 crores, by allowing a slaughter company at Ghazipur Mandi to increase its rates per animal slaughtered there.
AAP In-charge for Delhi’s MCD polls Durgesh Pathak said that the decision to allow the private company to hike its rates was taken without discussing it either at the Standing Committee or in the House.
According to him, the Delhi BJP leaders were hand-in-glove with this private slaughter company.
“This decision of the BJP-ruled EDMC of allowing the private slaughter house to increase its rates is going to lay a financial burden on the Delhiites. This is nothing but a scam worth around Rs 450 crores,” added Pathak while addressing a digital press conference from Himachal Pradesh.
He further said that this scam will be investigated once the AAP government is formed at the MCD, as according to him, “BJP’s days are numbered”.
Though he didn’t disclose the name of the private slaughter house.
Pathak also alleged that the BJP had made the three MCDs a den of corruption for over 15 years, ever since it has been ruling over them.
