Prime Minister Modi to deliver Valedictory Address

New Delhi, Nov. 7 (Delhi Crown): Assembly polls taking place in Goa, Manipur, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat next year are likely to be in focus during the Bhartiya Janata Party’s (BJP’s) national executive meeting on Sunday in New Delhi.

According to BJP sources, the national executive meeting is taking place after nearly two years. It will see some attendees being present in person at the venue in Delhi, while others will attend it virtually.

In all, 124 national executive members of the BJP, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP president J.P. Nadda will take part.

Prime Minister Modi’s valedictory address is expected to focus on the day’s agenda, including formulating the BJP’s strategy on several issues of national and state relevance. Party president Nadda is expected to deliver the inaugural address.

Emphasis will also be placed on the Centre’s desire to take its ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’ programmes forward and further promotion of its pro-poor measures like providing subsidized food grains and review of the Covid-19 vaccination exercise.

The national executive is expected to pass and release political and socio-economic resolutions after the meeting. Sunday’s meeting is seen as significant as it is taking place in the backdrop of results from 29 assembly and three Lok Sabha by-polls spread across 13 states, in which the BJP’s performance has been mixed.

The party has done well in Assam and Madhya Pradesh, but lost all three assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat in Himachal Pradesh, and been humiliated by the Trinamool Congress, the ruling party in West Bengal.
