BHD Nagar cop dies in road accident just outside police station
Deceased cop had been honoured with a Police Medal
New Delhi, Jan. 1 (Delhi Crown): A cop posted with the Baba Haridas (BHD) Nagar police station, under Dwarka Police District, died in a road accident just outside the police station, confirmed the local SHO on phone on Saturday.
Sub-Inspector (S-I) Sanjeev Kumar (52) was posted at BHD Nagar was crossing the road on Dec. 28 (Tuesday) to reach his work place (BHD Nagar PS) when a two-wheeler hit him.
“S-I Sanjeev had parked his car on the other side (of the road) and was crossing the road when a two-wheeler hit him at a very high speed at around 8.30 p.m. on Tuesday,” said SHO Jagtar Singh.
He was immediately rushed to a local hospital, from where he was referred to Venkateshwara Hospital in Dwarka. But he could not be saved, said the local SHO.
The rider of the two-wheeler was arrested, but he later got bail.
