New Delhi, March 24 (Delhi Crown): Pandemonium was witnessed in the Delhi Assembly on Thursday (March 24) after AAP MLA from Malviya Nagar constituency Somnath Bharti alleged that some RSS and BJP activists, including a sitting BJP Councillor, of his area were objecting to the installation of the National Flag at a park in his Assembly constituency.

Raising a matter in the House under Rule 280, Delhi’s former law minister Somnath Bharti said that people living in his area want to install a huge National Flag inside a park, “but some BJP and RSS activists are objecting to it saying they hold RSS Shakha at that very place and won’t allow the tricolour there.”

“These people belonging to the RSS and the BJP argue that since they put up the RSS Flag inside the park, they will not allow the installation of the National Flag there,” alleged Bharti while raising the matter.

While Bharti was raising his matter, the BJP MLAs started shouting at him. Speaker Ramniwas Goel tried to intervene but the BJP legislators didn’t relent, and soon a few AAP MLAs also entered the well of the House raising slogans against the BJP MLAs.

Later, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said – “It is unfortunate to see that BJP and RSS workers are opposing the installation of the National Flag in Delhi. It is like showing disrespect to the National Flag, and such people should be booked for being anti-national.”

“We will lay down our lives for the sake of the National Flag. If you have the guts, stop us from installing the National Flag there,” Manish Sisodia was heard as saying.
