AAP, BJP leaders spend the day in exposing each other’s schools
Sisodia tours Gujarat schools, BJP MPs try to expose Delhi govt. schools
New Delhi, April 11 (Delhi Crown): Leaders of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) are busy in exposing each other’s schools these days, hurling accusations and counter-accusations in bid to shame each other over the conditions of schools in Gujarat and Delhi.
While Delhi Dy. CM Manish Sisodia toured schools in BJP-ruled Gujarat, BJP’s MP from West-Delhi parliamentary constituency Parvesh Sahib Singh did a bit of anchoring in front of Mobile camera exposing a school in Pandwala Khurd village near Najafgarh, on Monday (April 11).
Another BJP MP Ramesh Bidhuri showed the dilapidated condition of a school in his South-Delhi parliamentary constituency. Mocking at the poor condition of the Delhi govt. school Bidhuri said – “See, this is Kejriwal’s world-class school.”
Gujarat goes to polls this year-end, and the AAP has been carrying out its campaign in the state more vigorously ever since it won the Punjab Assembly polls last month. The party is projecting the “Kejriwal Model of Governance” before the people in Gujarat, while the BJP is hellbent in proving it to be a failure.
In the nearly 15-minute video, Parvesh Sahib Singh could be seen trying to expose Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia on various counts, including the 42-year-old building which was inaugurated by his father Sahib Singh Verma in 1980 when he was Delhi’s Education Minister.
He also showed in the video the poor condition of desks-benches, tin-shed classrooms, and overall lack of sanitation.
While Parvesh Singh claimed that the school building had been declared dangerous, the school principal could be heard saying in the background that “it is not so”.
“The building has to be reconstructed. We have sent correspondence to the Delhi Government. A survey of the building was carried out recently, but the final report is yet to come. So, as of now we can’t say that the school building is dangerous,” say the lady Principal and Estate Manager in the background.
In the video, a visibly irritated Parvesh Singh can be seen attacking Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and Dy CM Manish Sisodia for spending too much on advertisements but doing the least for improving the education infrastructure.
“They just put up these low-class pictures on the banners, and do nothing,” Singh says in the video showing big hoardings installed inside the school premises with photos of Kejriwal and Sisodia.
He also refers to Sisodia travelling on a business class ticket to Gujarat earlier in the day to visit the schools in the BJP-ruled state. “Kejriwal and Sisodia travel on business class air tickets, but can’t see the dilapidated condition of their own schools in Delhi,” says Singh in the video.
Earlier, in a similar video, Sisodia too exposed the poor condition of schools in Gujarat. He said that while the Kejriwal government did a turnaround in education in Delhi, but the BJP could do nothing in the past 27 years since it has been in power in Gujarat.
“I have come here today to see the condition of schools in Gujarat,” Sisodia told media persons at the airport.
