New Delhi, Nov. 23 (Delhi Crown): The Delhi Police is soon going to set up a Cyber Police Station in each of its 15 districts, said a recent official notification.

Dwarka district’s Cyber Police Station will come up at the Dwarka-North Police Station.

These new Cyber Police Stations are expected to start operations by December 1.

The move assumes significance in the wake of the spurt in cyber-crimes whereby innocent people are fleeced by conmen on phone or through social networking sites.

Often one gets to hear stories about people being duped by several thousand or lakhs of Rupees by conmen over mobile phone. In most cases, the caller claims to be calling from a bank and indulges the innocent call-receiver into a conversation leading him/her to share the Debit/ATM Card details along with the secret CVV number mentioned on the back of the card.

Once the Card details are shared, the caller withdraws or transfers money from the call receiver’s bank account to his own. Number of such complaints have been on the rise in recent years, even as the regular Delhi Police cops not been able to do much about it. Specially trained cops are required to deal with such cyber-crime cases.

With the new Cyber Police Stations coming up in the national capital, it is hoped that incidence of such crimes would come down, and those behind them would be caught instantly.

“The Delhi Crown” www.thedelhicrown.com cautions its readers to be aware of such conmen who ask for Debit/Credit/ATM Card details on phone.
